During the Coronavirus Pandemic I was approached by Cocktail Kits to create a promotional video for their Old Fashioned Kit. Product videography has always been an exciting concept to me so I eagerly agreed. The whole time I was shooting I just kept thinking ‘channel a fancy watch commercial’ in my mind.
On delivery of the first video I was then asked if I would be interested in creating a second video, this time for a Martini Kit. I had such a good time pouring drinks in slow motion the first time that I agreed to take on a second shoot. I count myself lucky to have spent my quarantine in the company of cameras and liquor.
All sound effects on this project were created post shoot. I have always wanted to explore foley sound and the abundant free time during the quarantine gave me the opening to experiment.
Rather than creating a cut-down that was simply a shortened version of the main videos, I edited one to highlight the foley sound and gave it a Wes Anderson staccato vibe.
